Roos

These guys get their own post, they were so cute! I loved how they grabbed our hands with their little paws to eat. They were really lazy too, most of them waited for us to come to them.

There was only one male in the pen and you could definitely tell by his biceps 🙂

Australia Zoo

I was really looking forward to the zoo. We started our morning by holding a koala then went to the Crocoseum to watch a great reptile show. Crocs can jump almost their whole body length out of the water, so you are never safe next to or hanging out over the water 🙂

I guess this will have to be another series of posts because I am having a hard time narrowing the pictures down.

Brisbane: Part 3

Brisbane had gorgeous churches! The first few pictures are of St. John’s Cathedral. It took 100 years to build and was just completed this year. Stunning architecture.

We ended our day on the South Bank which had a nice view of the city along the river.

Brisbane: Part 1

We started our Saturday morning with a walk through the Brisbane Botanic Gardens. They were pretty though not as impressive as Sydney’s.

The downtown had a mixture of old and new, very cool city. Again I took lots of pictures that day so I have to break them up 🙂

Gold Coast

We continued the drive along the beautiful Gold Coast stopping at two beach towns, Byron Bay & Surfer’s Paradise, on our way to our hotel in Brisbane.

We saw some kangaroos grazing off the highway so we pulled off and snapped a few photos.

Coffs Harbor

After Newcastle we drove about 5 hours to Coffs Harbor, another pretty beach town.  The beach walk was beautiful along with the hike up Mutton Bird Island.

The following morning we took pictures next to one of its famous things, The Big Banana 🙂

Newcastle

We picked up our rental car then headed north out of Sydney. We crossed over the Harbor Bridge and saw the Opera House from the ground one last time. It took Todd less than an hour to feel comfortable on the left hand side of the road, he did really good!

We stayed the night in Newcastle which was only a couple hours north of Sydney. The town had a lovely beach walk along the sandy dunes.

Sydney Lights

These pictures are from the full day we had in Sydney & Manly ending with the lights around the harbor and city.

The picture with the flags shows people climbing the bridge. There were tours available but we were not that adventurous.

Opera House-Manly

After touring the outside of the Opera House we got on a ferry towards Manly. Manly was a nice town with more beautiful beaches. While eating our shared fish and chips on the beach, one seagull snatched a chunk of fish right out of my hand. The birds had no fear.

The hike along Manly coastline was pretty. We crawled through an opening in an old wall once used as a quarantine divider. Saw a couple large lizards and several scary spiders (non-poisonous) hanging a few feet from our heads.
