We have seen lots of animals in the last few weeks 🙂 Here are a few more (including our little monkeys) from our recent trip to the Seattle zoo with Todd’s family.
This is how Bryden truly felt about Ada
A few weekends ago we attended the Logos company picnic on a Saturday and our church’s picnic the following day.
Ada enjoyed the goats at Hovander and they loved her back. She accidentally fed one of the goats part of her pretzel and it instantly became best friends with her. The goats let her grab their faces and kiss them, they were very sweet and gentle with Ada. They also came running to the fence upon seeing us after we had left for some time to see the other animals.
Ada was the star of the church picnic we had the following day. She and Todd played a water squirting game in which she wore a cup attached to a string around her neck and Todd had a squirt bottle. The goal was to fill up the cup of your teammate while you stand across from each other and each take a step back every so often. Well, Ada decided to run from Todd (in sheer delight) while he squirted water towards her and the audience. When she finally had enough water in her cup, she drank it! Needless to say, they did not win but it was very entertaining!
Ada is starting to repeat EVERYTHING we say. She is getting good at saying certain words clearly (like apple) and saying phrases such as “I got it”, “go outside”, and “I see you.” She associates daddy’s shoes with going outside to mow and will try her best to explain that to us. Ada can put her pants on, one leg at a time (I have to pull them all the way up for her) and knows her left and right foot. She loves to walk up & down steps (rather than crawl) and she kicks a ball very well. She also enjoys making funny faces when we request them, which is quite often 🙂
Ada turned a year and a half on our vacation. After our little nature walk, it got a little hot so Todd dunked Ada in the ice chest. She LOVED it!
Our second excursion was a trip over to the Shasta Caverns. Accessible only by ferry or boat (and then a bus ride to the top), we enjoyed touring the beautiful stalactites and stalagmites of the caverns. It was also so very dark and I wished I had a tripod with me to get better pictures…maybe next time.
On our way to the caverns we saw a fire near the I-5. It was being extinguished quickly by the time we passed, but it added a little excitement to our morning 🙂
One of my favorite spots on the lake was an area called Packers Bay. The red dirt surrounding us was just gorgeous, especially sunlit! We enjoyed swimming and watching the birds, including vultures, hawks, and ducks. Todd & Ada also paddled over to one side to check out several vultures eating a fish carcass. Fun times 🙂
