Ruby & Ada

9 Months

Ruby is pulling herself up to stand with the help of chairs and low tables. She is also getting difficult to photograph since she loves to be on the move! 🙂

Ada turns 5!

Ada wanted a princess party for her fifth birthday this year. She invited a few close friends and they enjoyed games, presents, cupcakes, and a movie towards the end of the afternoon.

I decided to try making a princess castle cake for her party. It was mostly made out of rice krispie treats covered in homemade marshmallow fondant with the bottom layer actual cake. Ada helped me with the icing flower decorations. Grandma Cindy also came up to enjoy the celebration and to give me & Todd a date night! 🙂

8 Months

Ruby is now crawling with her knees on the floor. She is also pulling herself up to a kneeling position and sometimes to her feet. She has learned to wave and is babbling a lot more now 🙂

Family Christmas

After we opened gifts at home we packed up and headed to Tom & Cindy’s to celebrate with the rest of the family. All the cousins got to play and open more gifts together.

Christmas Time

1) Our annual trek (2.5 miles) to the Christmas tree farm was fun, but wet.

2) Ada decorated a cute gingerbread house with our homeschooling group.

3) Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were extra fun with Ruby this year. I forgot how much babies love crinkly paper and ripping it to shreds. It was cute watching her help open Ada’s gifts and then one of her own 🙂

…and yes, that is the fireplace channel on Netflix, ha!

A few pictures of Ruby that I never got around to posting, on time at least 🙂

7 Months

Ruby started crawling this month. Well, it’s more of a inch worm/army crawl. She sure gets around without getting up on her knees. She also started saying “b” sounds and clearly says mama only when upset 🙂

In other exciting news, Ada lost her first tooth! She was pretty excited after it came out, although a little anxious while it was loose. You can see the cute gap in the bottom photos 🙂
