Enjoyed a morning of celebration at church and then an afternoon of egg hunting.
Found the bunny masks at Archie McPhee’s (such a fun store!) in Seattle last year, they were pretty cute on the girls for Easter.

Ruby wanted a mermaid themed party this year and it was fun to plan. The weather wasn’t planned but it turned out to be beautiful day so we played a few mermaid games outside. Toss-the-pearl, pearl relay race, and rescue the sea animals were perfect outdoor games. The kids also enjoyed mermaid tail cupcakes, playing pin-the-tail on the mermaid, and making glittery slime. Ruby had lots of fun with her special friends (some new and some old) and getting to open some pretty fun presents 🙂
We have been exploring more of British Columbia lately. One of our recent weekend day trips was to Harrison Hot Springs, it’s about an hour away through scenic country. I love that the town’s mascot is Big Foot and you can see evidence of him from the giant footprints in the sidewalk to weathervanes and statues scattered about. The kids loved the playground and we enjoyed a paid hour of swimming in the public hot springs pool.
Ada is really into dinosaurs at the moment so that was her birthday theme. She told me what she wanted on her cake and even helped decorate a little bit. She loves LEGO, the Jurassic Park movies, and dinosaurs so her party was a mash-up of everything. Ada invited a couple new friends to join in the celebration and I think everyone had a nice time. We played games (pin the LEGO person), ate cake and opened presents. God has blessed Ada with some good friends to spend time with throughout the year. She has been a blessing to us and we love watching her grow and change into a sweet, smart, and caring young lady.
This was the day it poured buckets in the morning. We ended up buying plastic ponchos because we were not prepared for such heavy rain. Our shoes were soaked and anything exposed was drenched in a matter of minutes. My Dad and I left our nice cameras at the hotel and used our phones the rest of the day, it was nice to carry less. Since it was the last day and we had been on almost every ride, we decided to explore some of the other attractions. We rode the Monorail, took the entire train loop, and walked around the Star Wars Launch Bay where we talked to Stormtroopers 🙂 It truly was a memorable day!
Lots of fun exploring and repeating rides. Ruby enjoyed the less intense attractions such as Storybook Land, Small World and Jungle Cruise. She was my riding buddy for most of the kiddie rides. Ada loved Big Thunder and got to ride it over and over with us (thankful for Rider Switch and FASTPASS with Ruby).
