Todd & I took a ten minute walk down to the river last Saturday. It’s pretty cool to live so close to the Nooksack. I read that bald eagles like our river, especially in January. I have seen about three fly over our house since we moved in. Although we did not see any eagles that day, we did have fun skipping rocks and taking pictures. We were able to walk out onto a rocky sandbar, the river was very low as you can see. Of all the beautiful scenery, I loved the colors of some “rainbow” bushes we walked through. The reds, oranges & yellows were quite stunning.
Happy Valentines Day!

Wedding Photos
Todd & I happened upon our wedding photographer’s website to see what was new. We were surprised to see us in her portfolio. Jessica Verma is a talented photographer who works and lives in Los Angeles. If you enjoy taking pictures, her website is an inspiration. See if you can spot the two photos of Todd & I in the “day after” gallery:

Down By the Bay
Todd & I spent a beautiful, but very cold, day near downtown Bellingham. There is a small beach near Bellingham’s industrial area that we decided to visit. The purpose of our visit was to search for seaglass. One of my favorite pastimes is to search for this special glass. At this beach (which Todd discovered on his walks during his office breaks) you can find oodles of glass. Todd, being the creative person that he is, found another form of entertainment while there. Using a plain log balanced on another, he created a teeter totter! We had a lot of fun. I was afraid the log would snap under our weight, but thankfully it did not 🙂
Frosting
It’s been mighty cold these past few days…more like several months…but I won’t complain because the sun is shining! With the cold comes beautiful frosty mornings. Our plants look especially beautiful in the mornings all covered in ice. The birdbath is also frozen and has been for a while. Not too enticing for our feathered friends…unless they are made of stone 🙂
Saturday Fun
We had a lovely Saturday despite Todd fighting a cold. Speaking of cold, it snowed a little in the morning. It was beautiful, though it did not stick for very long. That evening we had dinner with our good friends Peter & Jessica (and little Jimmy) at their home. We played Settlers of Catan afterwards, it is such a great game! Thanks Peter & Jessica for a wonderful meal and fun night!
Yard Work
Todd & I spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon catching up on some yard work. We have a large lot and several trees, so we can expect to spend some quality time outdoors 🙂 I guess it’s not too bad when the weather cooperates. On Christmas Eve Todd spent about five hours raking leaves. He was only able to do about 2/3 of the yard at that time. This weekend we worked for another two hours raking and pruning rose bushes…and we still have a lot to do. I think it will all be worth it in the spring. I’m looking forward to my thirty-one rose bushes in bloom!
Bathroom Before & After
Here are a couple pictures of the upstairs bathroom I painted. The green was not exactly what I had in mind, but it ended up working with what I had for decor… froggies 🙂 It adds a certain boldness, don’t you think. The wallpaper is difficult to see in the photos, but it was a pink and white stripe with a hummingbird and ivy boarder, lovely for the 90’s 🙂 Also, in all our before and after pictures, we only painted the walls. We will have to leave the cabinets, counter tops, and floors until we can afford to replace them someday. They function just fine for now.
Happy New Year!
May you find peace and joy through Jesus as we close 2007 and begin 2008. Jesus truly is the beginning and the end of all things. He was before us, He is with us, and He will be long after we are gone!
“Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha & Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Revelation 22:12,13
