Pumpkins & Halloween

Another fun year at our neighbor’s family pumpkin patch. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the company of our longtime friends, Jessica, Owen and Henry. The girls also enjoyed carving their pumpkins and dressing up as Elsa & Anna for Halloween 🙂

Woodland Park Zoo

Another fun adventure with our van crew. The kids enjoyed petting goats, finding pretty birds, and eating ice cream 🙂

Swimming

Ada loves water and looks forward to her lessons every summer. We signed her up with her good friend Owen for her 2 week class and they had a blast. Ruby enjoyed the kiddie pool and will get to start her lessons next year. At the end of summer, Ada participated in the country club’s swim meet. She won 1st place in both of her races!

Cougar Mountain Zoo

One of our many summer adventures was a visit to a lesser known zoo on the outskirts of Seattle. We rode down with a group of friends and had a really fun time seeing the animals and getting to hand-feed a few of them.

Ada’s Ballet

This past spring, Ada took a semester of ballet classes followed by a big summer production in June. She performed as a cute dancing tree in a Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan story-line mash up. All the kids did a fantastic job showing off their talents and skills.

Northwest Fair

This year the girls just wanted to ride the rides. We spent a short amount of time viewing animals and the rest of the time watching the girls enjoy carnival rides.

Easter

Another year egg hunting. We decided to hide them on a Saturday because the weather was so nice. Easter celebration was meaningful with a nice breakfast before the service.

Todd’s Birthday

About a month ago we celebrated Todd’s birthday (with the kids) by spending the day at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. We hadn’t been to the museum since before the girls were born but it still felt familiar with fun hands-on and educational exhibits. Ada and I both enjoyed the butterfly house and salt water touch pool. Ruby enjoyed running around like the busy girl she is 🙂

Ada Turns 7!

We can’t believe our Ada is 7, time sure flies! She has turned into a sweet young lady with a heart for Jesus and a love for reading, art, LEGOS, and dancing. This year Ada wanted a Frozen themed party and after looking online together for cake ideas, showed me what she wanted. Other than a few lumps and awkwardness the cake turned out pretty cute and Ada was very happy with it. We had a large group of 10 kids to celebrate with this year, including Ada’s cousin Layla. They played bean bag toss, create-a-creature (with marshmallows) and pin the nose on Olaf followed by presents and cake. We are thankful for so many friends & family!

Goat Farm & Haleakala Crater

Our last big excursion with Tom & Cindy was driving up to Haleakala National Park. Along the way we stopped at a goat farm where the girls enjoyed petting and feeding a few goats.

The crater was beautiful for about 3 minutes, then the clouds rolled in and we couldn’t see a thing. It was also extremely cold and windy, so we didn’t last too long outside with the girls.
