Todd wanted to do something fun with the girls one evening so he found a way to make a simple bubble wand with yarn and sticks. The bubbles created were huge! The girls had lots of fun trying to pop them before they popped on their own π

Butterflies
For our homeschooling unit we grew and studied five Painted Lady butterflies. Ada waited patiently for the caterpillars to change into chrysalides and then finally emerge as butterflies. We enjoyed them indoors for a couple days then set them free. The first one fluttered quickly out of the habitat and away but Ada was able to gently handle the remaining butterflies.
Lots of Ada close-ups and a few iris photos thrown in π
Red & Pink
28 Months
Ada is definitely a girl when it comes to style, she changes her outfits multiple times a day. I often find her in new clothes (that she did not have on before) after nap or in the morning after waking up π She is starting to use the word βfavoriteβ to say what she likes, but that changes on a daily basis too.Β Lately, Ada wants to play with me and have conversations with her toys. Our toys often go to the park, the store for milk, and sing βwheels on the busβ together.
Adaβs outfit with the sunglasses cracks me up, I donβt know what I was thinking when I bought it π I also needed to throw in some pretty flowers that make living in the rainy northwest so worth it.
Tulips
My parents came up for 9 days in April to keep me company while Todd was working in Arizona. One of our special outings was visiting the Tulip Festival, a first for my parents and Ada. We paid to gain entrance to the RoozenGaarde tulip fields and display gardens and wow, what a beautiful place! You can also buy their tulips but then I realized it would take 1/4 million bulbs to pull off the same look π
Nature Walk
A few weeks back we drove up Mt. Baker Highway and stopped for a little nature walk. We were hoping to see eagles at the Eagle Park, but they had moved on from there. We see them soaring above our neighborhood and near the river close-by from time to time but in the early winter they congregate to feed on spawned salmon. I still have not see this amazing sight, but hope to next year. We just need to remember to take another drive around the new year π
17 Months
Adaβs vocabulary continues to expand although some days it seems her favorite word is no for everything. She is learning to count, can point to objects and say their name (such as clock, airplane, clown, etc.), recognizes letters of the alphabet, and enjoys gardening like watering, eating all the strawberries including the green ones, picking up snails, and playing in the dirt.
Ada made a new friend with the neighbor cat while the owners were away this week. The kitty waited patently for us on our porch to come out and play.
