The first picture here is of a Jabiru or what I liked to call the Avatar bird…you know, from the movie 🙂
I was really looking forward to the zoo. We started our morning by holding a koala then went to the Crocoseum to watch a great reptile show. Crocs can jump almost their whole body length out of the water, so you are never safe next to or hanging out over the water 🙂
I guess this will have to be another series of posts because I am having a hard time narrowing the pictures down.
The garden shots are from Roma Street Parkland. I could have spent a lot more time winding through the gorgeous landscaped gardens, water features and art sculptures.
The second to last photo is The Old Windmill which is the oldest surviving building in Queensland, built in 1828 by convicts of course 🙂
We picked up our rental car then headed north out of Sydney. We crossed over the Harbor Bridge and saw the Opera House from the ground one last time. It took Todd less than an hour to feel comfortable on the left hand side of the road, he did really good!
We stayed the night in Newcastle which was only a couple hours north of Sydney. The town had a lovely beach walk along the sandy dunes.
